Expand the protection map
Inventory which agents, copilots, and SaaS apps hold production logic or regulated content. Define retention and legal-hold expectations for prompts and outputs where they constitute business records. Test restores of agent configuration to a known-good state the same way you test database recovery. Confirm that identity and connector secrets are protected without being copied into insecure stores.
Context matters during incidents. When an agent makes unwanted changes at scale, teams need to know what changed, who or what initiated it, and how to restore only impacted items. Surgical recovery reduces downtime compared with wholesale reversion that undoes legitimate work.
Resilience is a control, not a checkbox
Align backup objectives with business continuity: recovery time and recovery point for agent-driven processes, not only for core infrastructure. Include tabletop exercises where an agent misconfiguration or ransomware-like corruption of SaaS content is the scenario.
